Term Workflow

A term goes through different states. When translators take on a text, they need to be approved by the proofreaders and that includes the glossary. Before they can deliver it, they must review the terms they have translated and have been approved.

In addition, it is important to the team that the terms are approved as soon as possible. This allows all translators to uniformly translate related texts, some of which may be being translated at the same time. In this way, consistency in terms will be maintained, optimizing time and increasing productivity.

The workflow of a term and its states is as follows:

  1. A translator adds a new term, including the context in the notes to help the reviewer approve it. The term is in Pending status.
  2. A reviewer approves the term, moving it to the Approved status.
  3. The translator will see the Approved term in its Non-Reviewed terms, so he knows that the term is correct and can continue. In case the term has been edited by the proofreader, he will see the Approved term in its Non-Reviewed and Modified terms, so he will know how the term has been corrected in order to correct it in his texts. When the translator has modified the text, he marks the term as Revised.

Undecided Terms

In addition to the different states, a translator or reviewer may mark a term as doubtful. This allows the team to quickly detect when a colleague has doubts about a term so that they can help each other.

All terms have a discussion chat for each language. This tool centralizes all the discussion in the same term and not through emails or forums where the information is diluted and it is more difficult to communicate. The chat is in real time, so that if two Collaborators are connected they can solve the doubts at the moment.
